A-VOID

"The substance I've been experimenting with is a viscous rubbery yet sticky material, one that is neither a solid nor a liquid but exists in-between states; it is ambiguous. When you touch it, it attaches and touches you back - it pulls you in!"

The black material engulfs and overwhelms the male dancers, at times even posing a threat of consumption.
Merged together the bodies now become something other – or no longer itself or one thing. The body becomes the material; an animated sculpture.
Within the videos, a recurring theme involves the presence of two bodies, representing duality. The substance adheres to their skin, forging a new outer layer that simultaneously binds them together. As they intertwine, their bodies meld into a monstrous amalgamation, while their subsequent separation traces the negative space created. I am intrigued by the monstrous configurations formed by the bodies using the material. Moreover, it serves as a metaphor for the ways in which we establish connections and navigate relationships with others.
